Congratulations to you Mr. Beasley!

It took a long, long time but you managed to write a beautiful book about an incredible man who I had never heard of. Thanks for taking the time to give the man his due because Kay Kyser's life was remarkable and you, my friend, made my life a little richer for having learned about him.
Your writing is exemplary and filled with humor and an encyclopedic knowledge about your subject, who you obviously find facinating and moving.
I'm sure Mr. Kyser would be even more proud of you than I am. And that's a lot.

Nice going Steve, I'm really looking forward to reading the book. The more factoids I learn about Mr. Kyser the more amazed I am about what he did. I'm hoping your book will help get some more interest - and maybe some interest in a Kay Kyser biopic! (question: who do you see in a leading role?!?)

Next stop Hollywood, baby!

If you ever need a flunky, let me know!

Ahhhhh...
I am so very glad that you placed so much time and effort into the book! Just recently, my grandmother whom is 91 asked me on the band leader's life. Being from an era where swing music did not play on radio, I of course, knew nothing. Althea, my grandmother, will be so enthused to read and listen to one of her favorite musicians of her generation. She grew-up in New Orleans, and has introduced me to several musicians that I knew nothing of. The Lennon Sisters come to mind, and of course, Kate Smith. How great to have this compilation and book awaiting her for Christmas!
She will be way overjoyed!
Merry Christmas,
Jon Alva Murphy
