Being from an era where swing music did not play on radio, I of course, knew nothing. Althea, my grandmother, will be so enthused to read and listen to one of her favorite musicians of her generation. She grew-up in New Orleans, and has introduced me to several musicians that I knew nothing of. The Lennon Sisters come to mind, and of course, Kate Smith. How great to have this compilation and book awaiting her for Christmas!
